M-TOWN BOUND

By Blind Angles

M-TOWN BOUND pays homage to the 1990s underground rap scene in Memphis, Tennessee — a scene characterised by raw creativity and experimentation, as well as gritty DIY recording and distribution. The unique lo-fi sound, dark atmosphere and brutal lyrics were a genuine reflection of living in a dangerous city plagued with gang violence, poverty and police corruption.

Featuring original illustrations and hand-cut collages, the zine recognises some of our favourite artists from the period, including Tommy Wright III, Princess Loko, Three 6 Mafia, and many more. To accompany the publication, a bonus bootleg mixtape has been produced on clear, "prison-style" cassette tapes to share our love for the genre.
